Lisa’s father was a successful illustrator and animator who taught her how to draw freely and expressively. She grew up surrounded by illustration and animation work and with these rich creative roots has developed her own individual style. She studied Art History and Criticism at Lomonosov State University in Moscow.
Lisa’s process begins with rough sketches on paper, before moving to her Wacom tablet where she paints each image up digitally in Photoshop, focusing on volume and lighting to give the scene depth.
Lisa’s images are rich in both detail and color, and each character she invents has its own backstory and motivation. There’s a sense of fun in everything she paints, and although they’re created in 2D, there’s a 3D feel to her images thanks to the care she puts into the shading and perspective.
