Depths of Emotion

For a special May 2025 performance at The Met in Philadelphia, Japanese Breakfast invited artist Ing Lee to create a limited edition screen print poster—and she responded with a hauntingly beautiful underwater tableau. Inspired by a quiet, melancholy visit to an aquarium during a trip to Korea, Ing filled the scene with serene marine life, swirling sharks, and a luminous figure suspended in the deep. Using a delicate technique of overlapping reticles to work within the constraints of screen printing, she created a layered, immersive world that feels both introspective and alive.
