Andriy Vynogradov is thoroughly weather beaten by working full time for a very well respected advertising agency in Germany. Now, as a freelancer he is especially strong in painterly and powerful layouts with personality. His portraits show that he hits the nail on the head with characters.
Question: What drew you to illustration/design? Andriy: I was plain lucky! Question: Do you have any formal design training? Andriy: Not really. Question: Where do you live? Andriy: In Hamburg. Question: Can you describe your studio for me? Andriy: Pretty small but full of light. Question: What is your biggest inspiration? Andriy: Well made images and photos and films. Question: How do you get the best ideas? Andriy: Portfolios of other illustrators. Question: What technique do you use? Andriy: Digital. Question: Tell us about a favorite project you have recently completed. Andriy: Demonic images for a bike magazine. Question: What would be your dream job/Commission? Andriy: Concept artist, but I am not quite there yet. Question: Who are your illustration heroes? Andriy: I have quite a lot, depending on the style. For storyboards: Dan Milligan, James Crandall etc , Concept Art - Paul Lasagne, Craig Mullins, Jaime Jones. and for Comics - Adam Hughes, Caricature - Jason Seiler ... Question: Do you keep a sketchbook? Andriy: I do, but I hardly ever use it. Question: What are your hobbies? Andriy: I don´t really have any. Question: If you could travel back in time, where would you go to? Andriy: Can I come back afterwards? If yes, any time would be interesting. Question: What kind of music do you listen to? Andriy: All kinds of different music. Question: What is the funniest thing you have ever done? Andriy: Hmm, I did quite a few funny things. Filling out questionnaires f.e.
