Oliver Hasselluhn offers architectural visualizations, animation and 3D with his studio. Having trained as an architect his main field is within architecture. Therefore Oliver is capable of taking over a project at a very early stage, including the conceptual design and everything before and after.
Question: What drew you to illustration/design? Oliver: After my studies in architecture and my work as an architect, I started to learn how to use a 3D program. First jobs followed and so I sort of slid into the illustration job by chance. Question: Do you have any formal design training? Oliver: No. Question: Where do you live? Oliver: In Hamburg. Question: Can you describe your studio for me? Oliver: I work together with two partners in an office. Question: What technique do you use? Oliver: Computer with 3D program. Question: Tell us about a favorite project you have recently completed. Oliver: The ebay logo as a doll´s house. Question: Do you keep a sketchbook? Oliver: Rather a book of ideas. Question: What are your hobbies? Oliver: Music, books, films, sailing, traveling, FC St. Pauli soccer club, friends and so on. Question: If you were not an illustrator, what would you be? Oliver: An architect. Question: Who would you like to meet? Oliver: Jack Nicholson. Question: If you could travel back in time, where would you go to? Oliver: Back to the 20´s. Question: What kind of music do you listen to? Oliver: Jazz, Rock, Punkrock, Alternative, Classic and so on. Question: If you won the lottery, would you still work as illustrator? Oliver: Yes, of course, but maybe not always at the same place. Question: Do you collect anything? Oliver: Music and films. Question: Do you have a favorite game? Oliver: "Doppelkopf" and "Texas Hold´em".
