Great cinema for poster and title pages

The name says it all!

Mart can’t do much. Except illustration. But he excels at that. He earned his first money as an illustrator at age 16, publishing comics and cartoons. He completed a specialized diploma in design, performed community service in public relations, and studied design. Before, during, after, and ever since, he has always been an illustrator. For over 25 years. Mia can do it all. Including illustration. A mother of two and an organizational whiz, she is the team’s creative and empathetic anchor. Nothing happens without her. Mia not only earned a top-tier degree in Communication Design but has also traveled the world, drawing creativity from a vast reservoir of knowledge and personal experience. She primarily develops the ideas, concepts, sketches, and layouts, leaving the final execution to Mart. As Art Director, she also handles the design of a monthly magazine and naturally takes care of the typography within POW!!!’s illustrations. Color selection also falls within her remit. For POW!!!, the craft remains more important than the tools. Mia and Mart are most passionate about fostering public political awareness through illustrations for serious news magazines and newspapers.

What drew you to illustration/design?It´s been the command of our time travelling egos of the future. Do you have any formal design training?The best you could wish for. Where do you live? We move quite often. Last steps were Mainz, Malta, Berlin, Capetown. And it will be again somewhere else soon. Can you describe your studio for me? It looks different all the time, depending how we have set the apartment that we currently live in. Usually we convert dining tables into desks and the material comes from suitcases. What is your biggest inspiration? Tight deadlines. How do you get the best ideas? With help of our synapses we combine certain brain cells, which no one would have thought are fit to be connected. What technique do you use?By now we even create pencil sketches and water colors solely digitally. Tell us about a favorite project you have recently completed? When the result punches, every project is amazing. What would be your dream job/Commission? We should finish the construction drawings for our time machine. Who are your illustration heroes? Depends on the genre: Frank Frazetta, John Berkey, Jim Lee and many others. Do you keep a sketchbook? Yes, BUT only for rough image formats and memos. What are your hobbies? Drawing and writing comics, publishing them and even read them. If you were not an illustrator, what would you be? Time machine designing engineer. Who would you like to meet?Joe Quesada, Kim Jong-Un. If you could travel back in time, where would you go to? Back into the time, when we commanded ourselves to become illustrators. What kind of music do you listen to? An honest answer to this would reveal us as ordinary people. What is the funniest thing you have ever done?One time we answered a questionnaire and pretended to be time travellers. If you won the lottery, would you still work as illustrator? How could money stop you from doing what you do? Do you collect anything? Comics, outstanding administration things and impressions.Do you have a favorite game? "The Last of Us" and a game called "Canasta" which is played with analog cards on so called "paper".
