Rive Gauche are two illustrators working together. One works within the field of 3D Renderings and character design, the other works as a photo realistic illustrator who works in Photoshop.
Both began their career with airbrush and acrylics on paper and today most of their complex illustrations are created in 3D programs mixed with Photoshop.
Anything is possible with this pair of talented illustrators.

Rive Gauche: First, the pleasure, since child, to draw... then, of course, the work of precedent illustrators, which show the possibility to mix painting, with narrative intensity and sense of humor... Question: Do you have any formal design training? Rive Gauche: no... I've studied cinema, and worked at the beginning in movie industry Question: Where do you live? Rive Gauche: Small town near Paris, Bievres. Question: Can you describe your studio for me? Rive Gauche: Well, a sort of guinness book 'records of mess. Question: What is your biggest inspiration? Rive Gauche: Often movies ... Question: How do you get the best ideas? Rive Gauche: Mainly, by draw or sculpting « freely », « around » the project... What technique do you use? Rive Gauche: Now, 3d computer generated pictures, exclusively. Question: Tell us about a fovorite project you have recently completed. Rive Gauche: searching a character for new york tv... sculpting in 3d the character, expressions, gestures, etc.. Question: What would be your dream job/Commission? Rive Gauche: When the art director and me have a real complicity around visual references, and humoristic concepts ... Question: Who are your illustration heroes? Rive Gauche: Rockwell, Frazetta, Adam Hughes, Doré, Mc Carthy,Moebius, Disney ... and one hundred more ... Question: Do you keep a scetchbook? Rive Gauche: Yes, of course.
