Heymoonly Dale

Cool, mature animé
This color palette glows in the dark.
As a self-taught artist, Dale has become an expert in digital tools. The same drive that energizes his work has also propelled his career.
All of his images are set at dusk or at night, which really brings out his neon colors. His influences include the anime series Bleach and Naruto, the kitsune spirits of Japanese mythology, the Edo period and its samurai, and films featuring female assassins such as Kill Bill, Sucker Punch, and the Hong Kong film So Close. Dale brings together numerous visual references and begins a project in his imagination, sketching them with pen and paper or on his tablet until the ideas flow and a composition takes shape. Dale characterizes his style as a contemporary pop art cocktail mixed with retro vaporware, cyberpunk, and a neon-colored Japanese urban aesthetic.
