Samy captivates with reduced and pointed picture ideas.

At the age of 15, Samy already earned his first money via Youtube. This passion for content creation continues to this day. When he finished his communication design studies in 2018, he started his own challenge and has been posting creative artwork on Instagram every day since then. That was the start of his community, the foundation for his collaboration with us, THE ILLUSTRATORS and a great journey to his current portfolio. Samy completed a dual degree in communication design, started his own business as a logo designer alongside, and worked as a spokesperson for other social media channels for 3 years before launching his own account in 2018. He gets to the heart of more complex visual content with charm and his signature "thinking around corners". He enjoys working for sustainable companies, is interested in topics such as technology, entertainment and sports, and takes on conceptual challenges with flying colors. His range of services includes: Digital Illustrations, Flat, Isometric, Character Design, Graphic, Infographics, Concepts & Ideas, Vector, People & Portrait. But that's not all - Samy can also animate his still illustrations. For more complex animations, he successfully collaborates with Rino Pelli. In this way, animation projects can be handled completely, from the storyboard to the film set to music. How did it come about that you wanted to become an illustrator? Through my studies as a designer, I became incredibly fascinated with illustration, because here you don't have to rely on fonts, images or other design utensils, but can create the spaces and worlds yourself! Did you have any training as an illustrator? I studied communication design as a dual student and was partly allowed to draw for projects. So YES... ;)Where do you live?Steinenbronn - that's near Stuttgart in the best village in Germany! Please describe your studio/workroom? My workroom is in the very first place my favorite place. It consists of a desk made of light wood, a very large monitor, my MacBook, keyboard, mouse and my iPad. Normally, apart from these things and my notebooks, no other things are allowed on the desk.What inspires you the most?Everyday life with all the exciting people, conversations and objects that we often don't pay attention to. But if you leave the obligatory view, you can see the magic behind everything.How do you come up with the best ideas?I think through trial and error. There's nothing like getting started and letting the energy drive you. The best things always come out of that.Which technique do you use?I now work purely digitally on my iPad Pro.What was the most amazing project you've worked on recently?I had the chance to design a record cover for a friend who makes great music. Being able to support other people and projects with my creativity is terrific :)What job/campaign/illustration have you always wanted to do?I think the cover of "The NewYorker" is the Champions League for every illustrator. If I'm on it, I'll pack my bags and retire :D Who are your illustration idols?Definitely Christoph Niemann, who also comes from Stuttgart and spreads unspeakably intelligent ideas. Otherwise, I am very much influenced by Instagram and social media artists who enchant their communities in the most diverse ways.Do you have a sketchbook?Of course! Digital and analog. I think an illustrator without a sketchbook, is like a firefighter without water... But I also have to admit that my sketchbook has become very digital in the last year.What are your hobbies? Friends, playing and watching soccer, reading, looking at nice things like exhibitions and museums, cooking.If you didn't become an illustrator, what would you be?Okapi tamer (if it doesn't exist yet I would invent it)Which personality would you like to meet one day?Gary Vaynerchuk - incredible guy who recognized the great opportunities of the 21st century.If you could travel back in time, what time would you go back to? I'm a big fan of the here and now, but I think looking over the shoulder of a really great invention, a scientist like Thomas Edison, would be ultra interesting for sure!What music do you like to listen to the most? Hip-hop and German/US rap, R&B, soul.What's the funniest thing you've ever done?Racing an electric senior mobile - those things might go off when you switch up from tortoise to hare mode- hey....Would you continue to work as an illustrator even after winning the lottery? Yes, I don't think my life would change much. Money is nothing but energy. If you have a lot of it, you can secure energy of others or relief of your own, but since only creativity and creating fulfills me, I wouldn't change anything :)Do you collect anything?No, I try to own as little as possible.Do you have a favorite game? For any friend of illustrations, the game DIXIT is a real insider tip!
